MEET THE SINGERS/MUSICIANS

Lili Añel

Lili Añel (pronounced Ahn-Yell) has always considered music a calling. This six-foot tall singer-songwriter grew up in
New York City, where she discovered her passion for music.

As a child Añel remembers, singing along to her mother’s Cuban, jazz and pop albums, and singing in the church choir. With the support of her mother and grandfather seeing the joy that singing brought to Lili, it set her feet firmly on the path of a career in music.

Defying categorization, Lili calls her music a hybrid of “jazz, folk, soul & pop”. Lili continues to win over audiences with her vocal style, her savory guitar playing and great music chops from her bandmates. Her new album, “Better Days”, has received excellent reviews and is a smooth and colorful combination that will, once again, bring Lili to the forefront. Lili is a 2018 PEW Fellowship nominee and winner of various New York Music Awards. Whether engaging you in one of her original songs or interpreting Nina Simone, she makes these classics her own, holding the listener in the palm of her hand. Be prepared to be uplifted by her voice and her songs, providing something real, exciting, unique and top-notch.

“Her songs are consistently excellent”– Christopher Loudon/JazzTimes

“A uniquely gifted artist that is raw, ethereal and incredibly real. Lili sounds like no one but herself, a rare gift in an industry of clones” – Brent Black/Not Just Jazz

“….a Soul/Jazz vibe that rattles the rafters with it’s power…knows how to make her music more than just a bunch of notes…personal and engaging in the classic Joni Mitchell way…hard hitting and accessible all at once”. – Midwest Record
