MEET THE SINGERS/MUSICIANS

Kate MacLeod

Kate MacLeod’s music for the soul springs from her Western home in the mountains of Utah. Originally from the Washington D.C. area, she's lived in Salt Lake City since 1979 when she moved there to study violin making. She couldn’t stop playing music long enough to make very many violins, so after raising a family she delved further into her love of music with decades of song compositions and original instrumental pieces. Her songs have been recorded by other artists in Bluegrass, Celtic, and most folk-based genres of music. Kate was awarded "The Best of the West Award, 2019" by the Far-West Division of the Folk Alliance International, for her music and her commitment to melding music with social consciousness issues.
