MEET THE SINGERS/MUSICIANS

Robin Batteau

Robin Batteau has been a fixture, if not a lamppost, on the Village folk scene since 1977, he says, appearing right between the death of Bing Crosby and the death of Elvis. When he heard Tom Paxton told Christine Lavin that his song 'Guinevere,' so beautifully covered by Lucy Kaplansky, "Just might be the perfect song," he almost hung 'em up-- how can you top that?-- and yet here he is. Many know him as half of the popular duo, Buskin and Batteau, others from his exquisite violin playing, and many--though they may not realize it--from the many musical advertisements he has produced for television and radio. The GVFF is proud to present Robin Batteau, one of NYC's most admired musicians.
