Tom Prasada-Rao







Tom Prasada-Rao was born in Ethiopia of Indian heritage, and after a 15 year exile in TX, lives in Washington DC. He has been a fixture on the folk scene since winning the Kerrville New Folk competition in ‘93, and since the pandemic has kept busy writing songs, most recently "$20 Bill," a song about the death of George Floyd and subsequent movement that has already been recorded by more than 75 artists. A powerful and inspiring performer, he is also a frequent co-writer with other top folk artists.
