Long a fixture on the West Village music scene, Songwriter and composer Bert Lee has been offering his music to New York and the greater world since the 1960's. As a part of the classic Village band Richard Cam and Bert, then the legendary Central Park Sheiks, and as a regular at the Fast Folk music collective, Bert's writing, singing and guitar playing have been enjoyed for decades. In recent years, as host of two of the remaining West Village open mics, at Caffe Vivaldi and Cowgirl, Bert has worked to create active venues for the many talented musicians in New York. Bert is still at it, writing and performing memorable and timely tunes in the tradition we all care about.
